Serena: Haute Hippie Take me Now Dress and Fendi Twins Straw Tote / Blair: Bensoni Spring '10 Polka-dot Dress |
Season 4 of Gossip Girl is already in full swing, but I want to take you all back to September. Do you remember? We started out this new chapter of the show in the belle city of light, Paris! To be honest, I wasn't completely sold on the idea of giving GG another go after the way things ended with Season 3. Blair and Chuck were very over after she discovers that he has slept with Jenny, Chuck gets shot, Serena chooses to pick herself and not a guy, Georgina returns with a baby!?, and Vanessa is as annoying as ever.
I could put all of that to the side knowing that I would get a feast for the eyes two fold with the start of S4. Paris + fashion = how could I resist? Although I am a tad late addressing it, let's take a look at some of the fabulous outfits Gossip Girl costume designer Eric Daman put together for episodes a Paris!

Blair: Oscar de la Renta Spring 2010 Peach Multi Chiffon Dress and Nancy Gonzalez Orange Tote |
All the characters' style signatures are magified in these few episodes. You see more haute couture conedenced than before in the show. Each piece is elegant, bold and a true reflection of how fashion is such a key part of Parisian culture.

Colours are bold and lush; summer break is clearly in the air and fun is to be had! Of course, Serena has it in spades touring all the cafes and bars for party and boy hook-ups. Blair is just as bold in her choice of clothing, but stays more reserved enjoying the quiet and refined pleasures that Paris has to offer.

Blair: Moschino Resort 2010 RTW Print Cherry Dress, Christian Louboutin Quepi Reci Platform, Chanel Resort 2011 Multicolor Patchwork Classic Handbag /Serena: George Chakra Spring 2010 Couture Swarvoski Cage Corset Dress, Rag & Bone Razor Coat, 76 Trombones Hat Spring Summer 2010 by Yestadt Millinery |
The above scene is my favourite of the series so far! Never before have you seen the two of them have such genuine fun. They are free, young and loose enjoying macarons, sharing laughs and walking the belle streets.
Shopping is naturally an essential part of this experience. Now how many of us could pull off carrying that many bags around, and in those heels!!
|
Eva: Rachel Antonoff Spring 2010 Skirt, Fendi Firenze Frame Bag |
We are introduced to the latest cameo star, Ms. Clemence Poesy of Harry Potter fame. She is the absolute picture of simple charm in everything she wears. Each piece is such an accurate reflection of her character's personality; sweet, subtle and elegant. I had the pleasure of seeing Clemence in a red carpet line this summer and her personal style is very similar to what we see here in Gossip Girl.

Both major looks above seem very structural in design. A nod to a mixture of the 1940s, 1970s and late 1980s.
|
Serena: Suno Wide Leg Pants, Dries van Noten Spring 2010 Raffia Booties, LAI Florence Belt |
Not many people in this world can pull off a trouser like Blake Lively can. Everything works together perfectly.
Are you ready to hop on a plane and go shopping in Paris yet?
Here's hoping the rest of this season of Gossip Girl continues to show us the best of the best in the fashion world right now! Daman has not let us down yet.
