These pin-up pictures by Art Frahm made me giggle today. I love how they are all losing the same pair of pink panties. Do men really fantasize about this? Was this really a problem for women in times gone by? HahaMy eye is really drawn to the clothes they are wearing, pink panties aside.Like isn't this yellow dress just darling? Now that I've been focussed on trying to sew my own dresses/clothes, I think I should take these pictures as inspiration!

BM Dress Picks

So it has been a truly long and busy long weekend for me. I took off Monday to today for cottaging, partying in Niagara Falls and then bridesmaid dress shopping with a huge group of gals. After trying on ALOT of dresses, I have narrowed my choices down to two. I am leaning more towards the first one as it will be a July outdoors wedding and I want to not melt, but the second one is so sexy! Keep in mind I would be getting the second one shortened to cocktail length if I choose it. Actually I would be getting the first one shortened if I picked it as well. Both dresses are by Jasmine B2.

The rest of the bridesmaids are wearing the light chiffon like in the first dress. Its 75% my choice. I love them both, I want to wear both hahaha. What do you think?

I want, I want!

Modcloth is calling it the "Frock of Love" dress, and I have fallen in love. What a completely sweet and romantic idea for a dress. Its such a simple idea, but works magically :) It even has a sweetheart neckline.

Look and drool my friends, look and drool. Quick, where's my credit card so I can scoop it up ;)

Vintage Dress DIY

This summer I have gotten the urge to explore my own personal clothing style and to have it evolve into something new. I'm greatly attracted to vintage dresses, from the 30s, 40s, 50s, and early 60s, but sometimes finding these dress styles (in a dress that truly fits) can be a little difficult. So now I am turning to a pasttime I haven't participated in in over 10 years, sewing. I'd like to start making my own dresses. With the help of online sources like Ebay, I've been able to track down some really cute vintage dress patterns. Here is my first purchase:
Now here are a few fabric patterns from Designer Fabrics Toronto that caught my eye that could look great with the dress pattern/style.>I may go with two solid colours instead, or I could just make a few dresses with this pattern :) I'm sooo incredibly excited to receive it in the mail and begin the whole process! Wish me luck :)

Bridesmaids Dresses Galore!

Next year my best friend will make her way down the aisle and become a mrs! I am so very excited for her and her fiance :) When she asked me to be her bridesmaid, I was positively thrilled!! The big day is July 31, 2010 which is more than a year away; although that hasn't stopped us from checking out selections of dresses online in her favourite colour for us, tiffany blue.

Tiffany blue, we both agree, is a colour that is flattering on most people. Her bridal party comes in all different shapes and sizes, hair colours, skin tones, so this choice of dress colour is perfect. Plus for a summer wedding, its bright, cheery and fun!

Each of us get to pick our own style of dress, keeping in mind the dress is short (tea or cocktail length) and is in tiffany blue. Therefore the possibilities are widened significantly :) Here are some of the dresses I've been admiring. These dresses are by Jasmine Bridal and Mori Lee.
